National Dog Day is all about finding loving new families for the sea of
unwanted dogs in the U.S. The lifesaving goal for this year's celebration
is for 20,000 dogs to find new homes through the main event in Maryland
and adoption events nationwide. Last year, nearly 15,000 dogs from coast
to coast found forever homes in just one special day. Join the celebration
and help save a life!
Located on acres of gorgeous waterfront property bordering the Chesapeake
Bay on one side and the Patuxent River on the other, the Calvert Marine
Museum is a public, non-profit, educational, regionally oriented museum
dedicated to the collection, preservation, research, and interpretation of
the culture of Southern Maryland. Explore the history and lighthouses of
the Chesapeake Bay and Patuxent River and celebrate your love of dogs....
all in one place...on one special day! Southern Maryland and the
surrounding areas boast some of the country's largest populations of proud
dog owners actively seeking to fulfill a wide range of product and service
needs. Solomons Island, not only shines with an exciting array of family
fun adventures, but is one of Southern Maryland's and Calvert County's
most beautiful weekend getaways.
